Incommand started putting together a web development team shortly after the first Nescape browser was released. Our small but lean and mean web design team started locally with Grants Brewery but soon broke into the Seattle market taking on Chateau St. Michelle and Stimson Lane. When Stimson Lane purchased Grants, our team worked with Landor and Associates design firm on a redesign of Grant's website which gained national recognition and is still found today in books about web design. From there we collaborated on additional projects with Landor as web consultants and web developers.
At that stage we prided ourselves on being "back end" people who handled all the navigation, coding, programming, hosting, and server setup. Design firms were getting more and more of the website requests but only had experience with print design. They didn't have staff in house for website user interface consulting and/or web development. Also during this time one of our staff published a few web programming books, writing at night and still showing up to do his programming the next day. He co-authored CGI by Example and HTML by Que Publishing.
Our next collaborative effort was with a design firm in Portland who had some prestigious clients including Intel. For a new section on the Intel site we were delivered a design and navigation which would take over 110 web pages for the campaign. By rethinking the navigation, and delivering pages dynamically from a database, we were able to accomplish the same task with 30 webpages.
Finally by simply adding our own graphic's staff we have been able to offer our clients a full range of web development services. Please view our list of services to see all that we can provide for your web site, website design or web application project.
